Aside from being David's father, Richard is also a premier bass player. He was saved at the age of 33. Richard has been through quite a lot in his lifetime. As early as 13 years old, he was spending the majority of his time playing in clubs with his family. After years of a less than devoted lifestyle, he finally met his wife Shelley. Since meeting his wife, he has given his heart and life to Jesus and now rather than playing in the clubs and living the wild life, he has totally devoted his sights on playing for the Lord. In more recent years, God has truly tested his ability to remain loyal. After the death of his daughter, Tabitha, Richard has spent the last few years trying to make ends meet for his grandchildren. He is a fully devoted father, grandfather, and husband, but more than all of that he is a devoted Christian. As recent as June of 2007, his brother was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident, again another test of his faith, but Richard has still remained faithful. He is a great example of learning to cope with what life throws at you and learning not on your own understanding but God's.
